The GBC Certification Process
Step 1: Initial Application & Payment
Complete the appropriate application form on Join It (above). Here you will provide us with billing information, add a payment method for your initial certification fee, and clarify the number of locations you're certifying. Questions? Email us at info@greenburialcouncil.org.
Step 2: Agreements & Assembling Documents
Our business administrator will guide you through submitting the required documents for review, ensuring you have the tools and resources to succeed. Togehter, you will assemble a "packet" that will be forwarded to the GBC's Certification Team for review and sign our Provider Agreement.
Step 3: Certification Review
Our Certification Team will evaluate your submitted documents to ensure alignment with GBC Certification Standards. If additional information or adjustments are needed, we’ll help you to address them to meet certification requirements with a second review.
Step 4: Earn Your Certification
Once approved, you will receive: a certificate verifying your status as a GBC-certified provider, permission to display the GBC logo on your website/marketing materials, and a listing on the GBC directory.

GBC Membership Pricing
Funeral Homes
- Initial Location: $445
- Additional Locations Under Common Ownership: $150 each
Cemeteries
- Initial Location: $445
- Additional Locations: $150 each
Burial & Body Care Products
- Initial Product: $445
- Additional Products: $50 each
For organizations that own both funeral homes and cemeteries, the first funeral home and the first cemetery are each billed at $445. Any additional locations of either type are billed at $150 per location.
Refund Policy
If your facility or product does not meet GBC standards within six months of application, you are eligible for a 50% refund. Incomplete applications marked as provisional due to missing documentation are not eligible for refund.
