American Willow Caskets

Picture
Picture
American Willow Caskets was born on the notion of providing beautiful professionally handmade willow caskets that are woven in the USA. Bonnie Gale, our Founder, is a very experienced willow basketmaker and has had over 37 years of experience in the willow growing, making and installation business. These caskets are an environmentally sound and harmonious way to return the body to the Earth. In the burgeoning green burial movement and the continuing societal education of the death transition, American Willow Caskets aims to provide a deeply reverent casket for our loved ones who have made the transition. These caskets can also be used for cremation. A range of sizes for adults, children and babies are available, as well as custom orders and basket urns. There are opportunities to participate in the weaving of the individual casket by the client and family, hence making the casket a very personal expression.

The Wooden Casket

The Wooden Casket is a Kentucky Proud business. Michael Watson, the owner, says he gets his love from building from his ancestors who were carpenters, craftsman, and basket makers. Michael started his casket business to give people an option after his dad made his and his mom's caskets. He wanted to save people money and still have a great product. From the inexpensive pine box to most elaborate maple/walnut casket with gold colored handles and trim, all his caskets are made in his store in Tompkinsville, KY.

The Funeral.org Partnership

The Funeral.org Partnership consists of a core group of home funeral advocates creating noncommercial public information websites in each state that deliver easy-to-follow home funeral information. Founders Holly Pruett and Lee Webster  work with in-state partners to create and launch state-specific home funeral websites. Those partners then operate their own sites, with the continued support and information-sharing power of the collective, ensuring up-to-date content for families seeking to care for their own at home. Get your state on the map!
