The Green Burial Council logo displayed by GBC-certified cemeteries, funeral homes and product providers attests to an organization’s commitment to the environment, promoting sustainable practices, and preserving and stewarding land. The Green Burial Council is a nonprofit staffed almost entirely by volunteers. Fees support GBC’s operations and efforts to increase interest and demand for green burial alternatives. Note: Funeral Homes and cemeteries under common ownership will be charged $345 for the first funeral home plus $345 for the first cemetery. Additional funeral homes and cemetery locations will be charged at $100 each.
Refund of 50% of certification fees paid in the event the facility or product does not meet base level GBC standards within six months of initial application.
No refund in cases of incomplete information where certification is marked as provisional pending additional documentation
